“In the activity, Attend to the quiet. In the silence, Attend to the form. Listen to the stillness, To the core within. Always present, Not in opposition To movement”

CHANTEK MARY MCNEILAGE

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website

Just to give you a little background.

My deep search, interest and engagement in the sacred, mindfulness, movement and related contemplative disciplines started more than forty years ago.

I have a background as a complementary therapist using body-centred therapies, pre-natal & birth, craniosacral therapy and integrative psychotherapy.

Some of my work over the years has involved working with special needs children and running in-depth process groups in the UK, Europe and America.

My formal training from 2006 in mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, comes via the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor.  My supervision training also via Bangor (CMRP) began in 2011.

I continued to train and develop other areas of mindfulness including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life, Finding Peace in a Frantic World for the workplace, Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living and Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness with David Treleaven.

I have taken the MBCT-L training into schools for a research project with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, and I taught courses of MBSR and MBCT-L in High School education both to teachers and students.

More recently I have trained in MBSR Eco-Awareness programmes and run Mindfulness in Nature retreats and living near Cambridge I have delighted in offering mindfulness in nature at the Cambridge Botanic Gardens.

I am registered as a teacher and supervisor with the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) and offer supervision for trainee and experienced teachers of mindfulness-based approaches.  I am a registered supervisor with the Mindfulness Network and teach the Individual Learning Programmes.

It is with a deep love and respect for this work that I continue to learn and develop myself and to share, guide and support the benefits of mindfulness practice and skills with others.

What I value and open towards, as best I can, are the qualities of attentive listening, clear reflection, support, kindness, compassion, warmth and light humour.  I teach, supervise, and run retreats both online and face to face, plus offering an ongoing fortnightly practice group.

Two of my other passions are poetry and horses and I am a volunteer for Riding for the Disabled (RDA) where the combination of the children and the sensitivity of the ponies offer an extraordinary experience both developmentally, relationally and in sheer enjoyment!  I am a grandmother alongside my husband, loving our garden and our two cats Mango & Chutney.

If you would like more information, please do get in touch.

With Warm Wishes ~ Chantek (pronounced with a silent k)
